Our Board

President – Geoff King: Geoff has been involved in theatre for more than 50 years as both a performer and a technician. In the early years he performed as a musician, later becoming musical director, and has served as set builder, pyrotechnician and technical director in various theatres. He is, at present, the executive director of the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam. To see people enjoying theatre makes all the effort worthwhile

Vice President – Jas Salh: With over 12 years of experience in the securities industry, Jas began her career in 1997, when she moved to Canada from England. In her spare time, Jas volunteers for a number of local charities and is currently a Director on the Board with the White Rock Hospice Society, President of the Surrey Foundation, Vice-President with the Royal Canadian Theatre Company, and President of the Senior Support Service and actively involved as Vice-President of Soroptimist International White Rock.  If Jas any spare time left she loves hanging out with her family, gardening, reading and travelling.

Treasurer – Allan J. Wong: Allan is the treasurer of RCTC. He studied accounting at SFU and recently attained his CGA designation. He’s passionate about the arts and numbers so he decided to put the two together by working for RCTC. It’s been a good eye opening experience for him. Allan is very big on community involvement and felt this would be a great way to give back and have some fun in the process!

Secretary – Jean Blackburn: JB’s work background is in business but has been very varied – including time as Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer in the National Health Service in England.  She now runs her own business which she carries out over the internet.  Being eager to bring her expertise to an organization that cares passionately about what it does and about the community, she found this in the Royal Canadian Theatre Company.   “Bringing the excitement of theatre to people, especially children, is now a big part of my life.  I am proud to be so involved with the Royal Canadian Theatre Company and further benefit the community” says JB.
